From Frictionless Registration to Brand-Powered Finish Lines

Spartan Race is the world’s largest endurance race series, hosting thousands of events across the globe that push athletes and operational infrastructure to the limit. But behind the scenes, fragmented tech, disconnected branding, unreliable event-day systems, and siloed data made it difficult to scale.

Spartan needed more than a system upgrade. They needed a full-stack transformation. HALO stepped in to overhaul the digital experience: from rebranding to registration, BI dashboards to remote event tech, modernizing every touchpoint for performance, scale, and brand power. The result? A streamlined, ownable platform that’s as resilient and high-performing as the athletes it supports.

The Challenges

Spartan’s legacy infrastructure couldn’t keep pace with the brand’s explosive growth. Their registration experience relied on third-party platforms with no design flexibility, fractured user data, and complex financial dependencies. Race-day operations struggled with connectivity and scale, while business teams lacked visibility into performance metrics. Spartan needed to reclaim control of the digital experience end-to-end:

In partnership with Panasonic, we developed interactive on-site experiences that bridged brand and athlete moments. A self-serve camera kiosk showcased Panasonic’s latest mirrorless model through touchscreen engagement. Meanwhile, a 360° slow-motion camera booth (powered by Panasonic’s POV tech) generated over 2,000 shares per event, with single activations reaching up to 2 million people via social.
